Course Aim

To increase participants' understanding of conflict and the causes of conflict in order to improve their ability to minimize the issues from change and to even benefit from conflict in the workplace.

Course Outcomes

  • Understanding the cycle of conflict and how to break it
  • Having tools for dealing with conflict situations (the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode instrument)
  • Knowing how the seven levels of human motivation impacts conflict and how human emotions, such as anger, arise
  • Insights into how personality difference typically leads to conflict
  • Clarity on the principles of negotiation (and power plays that are used)
  • Ability to be assertive and more self-confident
  • Improvement on resolving conflicts and effectively negotiating in the workplace
  • Increased creative tension in the workplace
