Team and Leadership Assessment and Selection

Research has shown that the difference between a very high performer and an average performer (but someone who can still do the role) is up to 127% of their salary to the organisation’s bottom line, year on year. MarkTwo Consulting helps organisations to select very high performers and to develop employees into very high performers. MarkTwo Consulting also provides expert assessment of long term capability and motivation, to assist with small or large scale organisational changes and restructuring. Global research indicates that by the time employees had been in an organisation for six months they were less than 40% engaged.

Employees' ability and motivation impacts work performance and MarkTwo Consulting provides a complete assessment of capability by evaluating:

  • Technical knowledge (often linked to some academic qualification or accreditation)
  • Behavioural Competency (e.g. leadership, teamwork, results orientation etc.)
  • Organisational Values and Individual Motivation.

MarkTwo Consulting consultants have almost two decades of experience in assessment and selection, and it provides training and support with assessment centers and interviewing; including job competency analysis, exercise design, assessor training, standard behavioural event interviewing, advanced interviewing and interviewee training.

Using Psychometric Testing to Support Selection or Recruitment Processes

Ability tests may be aptitude tests and generally have a very high validity; the downside is that they basically measure only one or two competencies; 'decision making' and the 'ability to learn'. They are basically IQ tests and there has been a great deal of publicity around the research and studies showing that Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is much more important when it comes to managerial performance. While personality instruments generally have a lower validity than ability tests, they are still high enough to use if the right ones are chosen and they cover a much wider range of competencies and better reflect the applicant's level of EQ.
